As the sole motion graphics specialist for PokerStars and PokerStars Casino apps, I was responsible for crafting dynamic and engaging animations that elevated the user experience. My work brought life to the platform, using motion to create seamless transitions, celebrate wins, and enhance visual hierarchy. Each animation was carefully designed to guide users through the app while maintaining a polished and professional aesthetic that aligned with the PokerStars brand.

I also pioneered the use of new technologies to push the boundaries of what motion graphics could achieve within the app. By celebrating player milestones and creating intuitive visual cues, I transformed static elements into moments of excitement and clarity. My contributions not only enhanced user engagement but also helped solidify PokerStars’ reputation as a leader in delivering immersive, world-class gaming experiences.

Role

Game Loaders

Gonzo’s Quest:

The Search for El Dorado is a very popular slot game. My role called for the background and atmosphere to be cohesive with the look and feel of the game.

The Hot Turbos:

The Hot Turbos is a thrilling, fast-paced series of tournaments held daily, featuring turbo games and guaranteed prize pools. To maintain brand consistency, I utilised pre-existing assets, ensuring familiarity for users. Additionally, I created custom elements like fire, smoke, and embers to enhance the visuals and bring the theme to life.

Elements: The Awakening

Working on Elements: The Awakening was a rewarding challenge that pushed me to expand my skills. To meet PokerStars’ high standards, I quickly learnt new techniques and mastered advanced visual effects, delivering a polished and engaging video. This project showcased my ability to adapt, innovate, and maintain excellence under pressure.

Royal RusH

The composition of Royal Rush naturally allowed the swords to serve as a dynamic secondary animation. I manipulated the assets to create a short, snappy animation that seamlessly aligned with the in-game motion style.

Holiday GAME LOADER

The Christmas game loader was a unique challenge due to strict regulations prohibiting child-friendly characters or imagery. To tackle this, I took inspiration from Tim Burton’s Batman Returns and crafted a wintery atmosphere with icicles and snowfall. This approach allowed me to create a frosted, seasonal aesthetic that was both engaging and compliant with the guidelines.
